Resumen
Desde hace más de veinte años, los métodos de elaboración de nanomateriales inorgánicos o híbridos basados en la “Química dulce” suscitan un gran interés tanto a nivel académico como industrial. Estos métodos de síntesis implican, en un sentido amplio, reacciones de “polimerización” que se efectúan a temperatura ambiente a partir de precursores moleculares o de nanopartículas. Estas condiciones son exactamente aquellas que se llevan a cabo en muchas reacciones de la química orgánica y organometálica, la química supramolecular, la química de polímeros y la biología. Actualmente, la química de los materiales se inspira de los materiales funcionales que pueblan el mundo de los vivos. Sus enfoques, biomiméticos o bio-inspirados, han dado lugar a nuevas estrategias para generar de forma simultánea, en el mismo material y a varias escalas, compuestos orgánicos, compuestos biológicos y minerales con el fin de lograr verdaderos híbridos o nanocompuestos organo-minerales. La combinación de las propiedades de algunas moléculas orgánicas o biológicas y las de los compuestos minerales en un solo material se ha convertido en un objetivo alcanzable. El interés en estos materiales multifuncionales no sólo proviene de sus propiedades físicas y químicas sino también a las grandes posibilidades de asociación que brinda el estado coloidal fluido con la físico-química de los sistemas biológicos y de los fluidos complejos. Este acoplamiento entre la “Química dulce” y los muchos procesos de conformación variados (inmersión, pulverización, recubrimiento por rotación, extrusión, microemulsiones, nanolitografía, la impresión por inyección de tinta, etc.) hace que sea fácil de desarrollar no solo materiales inorgánicos o híbridos en forma de películas delgadas o recubrimientos gruesos y fibras sino también generar polvos, espumas, y monolitos híbridos con propiedades destacadas.
