El “Mal de la Piedra” y los Monumentos de tu ciudad
Resumen
Se reconocerán y caracterizarán los diversos materiales de construcción de carácter histórico monumental que constituyen la materialidad del Patrimonio Construido de Granada, haciendo especial énfasis en los materiales pétreos, en las rocas que se utilizaron para edificar los Monumentos y las construcciones históricas. Se identificarán y valorarán los principales agentes y mecanismos de deterioro que originan, lo que se conoce coloquialmente, como “mal de la piedra”, también las formas de alteración específicas de cada tipo de material y su estrecha relación con los diversos factores de deterioro, como son la contaminación, la formación de sales, el choque térmico, las restauraciones del pasado poco afortunadas, la incompatibilidad de los productos de construcción actuales, etc. Se provocará la reflexión y debate, entre los participantes, acerca de las consecuencias que en la preservación del Patrimonio tienen los factores antropológicos y el planteamiento de las posibles actuaciones y soluciones.

Animar a los ciudadanos a reflexionar sobre la fragilidad del Patrimonio Cultural, que representa la “memoria histórica” de nuestra civilización, y específicamente del Patrimonio Arquitectónico, que por su casi nula protección frente a los numerosos factores ambientales y climáticos de nuestra época fuertemente industrializada, se encuentra en una situación muy comprometida de cara a su preservación y, por tanto, transmisión para el disfrute de las generaciones futuras.
Actividad Complementaria
Para completar la actividad, el grupo de investigación realizará una visita por el propio Hospital Real para reconocer la diversidad de sus materiales de construcción y su estado de conservación.
