Este sábado, 29 de marzo, será visible en Granada el primero de los eclipses solares que nos esperan en los próximos años, en este caso, un eclipse parcial. Para verlo y comprender mejor lo que ocurre, la Facultad de Ciencias convoca a la comunidad universitaria a realizar su observación desde los paseíllos universitarios, en la zona junto a la parada de metro Universidad.
Si la meteorología lo permite, la observación empieza antes de que el eclipse comience, a eso de las 10.30 de la mañana, y se seguirán instalando los telescopios hasta las 12.30. Los telescopios se ubicarán en la parte trasera del edificio principal de Ciencias, entre la garita de seguridad y la parada de metro. Además de la observación con telescopios, los asistentes podrán disfrutar del eclipse con ayuda de gafas equipadas con filtros solares. Igualmente, se seguirá la retransmisión del eclipse desde otras localizaciones del planeta.
El acontecimiento astronómico tendrá una magnitud de 0.27 desde Granada (la magnitud es la fracción del diámetro solar ocultado por la Luna). La parcialidad comenzará a las 10.45 y terminará a las 12.24.
En los próximos años serán visibles en España dos eclipses solares totales el 12 de agosto de 2026 y el 2 de agosto del año siguiente, seguidos de uno anular el 26 de enero de 2028.
Quienes deseen seguirlo desde otras localizaciones deberán tener en cuenta ciertas precauciones.
