seismicWavePropagationEl Máster en Geofísica y Meteorología anuncia una serie de seminarios sobre "PROPAGACIÓN DE ONDAS E IMÁGENES SÍSMICAS DE LA CORTEZA Y EL MANTO SUPERIOR" a cargo del Profesor YUN CHEN, investigador del Instituto de Geología y Geofísica de la Academia China de Ciencias. Estos seminarios están dirigidos tanto a estudiantes de Máster y Doctorado como a investigadores y profesores que estén interesados en la Sismología y en la estructura del interior de la Tierra.

Las charlas tendrán lugar en la Facultad de Ciencias, en el Seminario de Matemáticas 2 (Sección de Matemáticas, planta segunda), los días 26, 27 y 28 de mayo en horario de 10 a 12 de la mañana. Las charlas se impartirán en inglés. El programa detallado puede verse más abajo.

El Máster en Geofísica y Meteorología emitirá un certificado de asistencia a todos los alumnos interesados que atiendan este ciclo de seminarios.

About the lecturer
Dr. Yun Chen reached the PhD degree in Geophysics in the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2007). At present he is Associate Research Professor of Solid Earth Geophysics in the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in Beijing. His current research interests are the seismic imaging and the geodynamics of the Earth’s crust and upper mantle. Since 2006, as principal researcher, he has carried out several passive source seismic experiments in the eastern margin, central, and southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. Based on the recorded seismic data and using seismological methods such as surface wave tomography, receiver functions, shear-wave splitting analysis, etc., he has successfully investigated the crustal and upper mantle structure, and deformation and geodynamics of the continental collision zone between India and Eurasia.
